Baptism

Ready to publicly declare your faith in Jesus?

what is Baptism?

Baptism is a powerful step of obedience for anyone who has placed their trust in Him. An outward sign of the inward change God has already done in your life.

At River City, we love celebrating baptism as a church family. Whether you recently gave your life to Jesus or have been following Him for years and have never been baptized, we’d love to walk with you through this next step.

Why Be Baptized?

It is an outward declaration of the inward transformation God has done in your life. A public way of saying, “I belong to Jesus.”

In baptism, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and celebrate the new life we have in Him.

While baptism doesn’t save us, it is a beautiful and important next step for every follower of Jesus.

What to Expect

Baptisms take place after the 11:00am service. After service, head to the back patio area, where our Baptism Team will help get you checked in and prepared.

Bring a change of clothes and a towel, and feel free to invite your friends and family to celebrate with you! You’ll also have the opportunity to briefly share your story and why you’ve chosen to follow Jesus and publicly declare Him as Lord.

Baptism Sundays

We celebrate baptisms together as a church family roughly every six weeks on designated Baptism Sundays. Our next Baptism Sunday is August 23, 2026, after the 11:00 AM service.

Don’t Want to Wait?

If you’d like to be baptized sooner than our next scheduled Baptism Sunday, reach out to Susan Lecher and we’ll help you find a time.

We will Baptize you any Sunday after the 11am service.
